The South Korean company SsangYong has introduced a new crossover Torres. The car, whose length exceeds 4.5 m, is built on a platform from the Korando model. The front uses MacPherson struts, while the rear uses a multi-link design.
So far, the car is offered with a non-alternative 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 170 horsepower, which works in conjunction with a starter-generator. The gearbox is a six-speed automatic Aisin. You can buy a novelty with full or front-wheel drive. In the future, the model should receive an electric version. Her debut is scheduled for next year.
Torres received a rather unusual, “off-road” design. The car was equipped with a radiator grille with vertical slats in the style of Jeep, protective plastic lining on the body, LED optics and a special box on the rear roof pillar, like the Land Rover Defender. Wheels can be from 17 to 20 inches in diameter. Trunk volume – 703 liters.
Inside the car, a digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch screen of the multimedia system and a small touch screen were installed, which is located in place of the center console (it can be used to control climate control6 as well as heated front seats).
At the moment, SsangYong is in a difficult financial situation – at the end of 2020, the automaker declared bankruptcy due to the inability to pay off creditors to which it owed a total of $ 150 million. At the moment, the Koreans are actively looking for investors.
