Kia has unveiled an updated Picanto hatchback. The model has changed a lot in appearance and received new electronic systems. For a surcharge, she has LED headlights, and in the GT Line version – a pseudo-diffuser and a “sporty” decor. The range of new engines includes “atmospherics” with a volume of 1.0 and 1.2 liters. Gearboxes – five-speed “mechanics” and “robot”.
It is not difficult to distinguish the updated Kia Picanto from the pre-reform hatchback. It’s credit to Opposites United’s design philosophy, which Kia pioneered for the electric EV6. It pays great attention to the combination of natural forms and modern trends, which creates a bright and dynamic image. The model looks different from any angle. Vertical headlights can be LED. The Picanto’s cabin has an eight-inch central display and a digital instrument cluster. The Kia Connect service gives you access to traffic, weather and online navigation that uses historical data from the cloud to build the best route. There is also an over-the-air update function and last mile walking navigation, but you need to install a proprietary application for it to work. The updated Picanto’s impressive list of electronic assistants includes lane keeping, auto-braking and rear traffic control.
The range of hatchback engines includes modernized “atmospherics” with a volume of 1.0 and 1.2 liters. They finalized the cooling of the combustion chamber, optimized the work of adjusting the valve timing at the inlet and improved the exhaust gas recirculation lines. The return remained the same: 64 and 87 horsepower. Together with the units, they will offer a five-speed “mechanics” or “robot” AMT. From the previous Picanto, there is a thrust vectoring function and a “short” steering rack.
