Toyota has officially unveiled the next-generation Land Cruiser SUV in the US. In North America, from now on, this model will be sold simply as a Land Cruiser, and in those countries where the Land Cruiser 300 SUV is sold, the novelty will receive the Prado prefix to the name.
In the USA, a model with the name Land Cruiser was not offered for three years, after the version with the index 200 was discontinued. The Land Cruiser 300 that replaced it is not delivered to America, so the new product is positioned precisely as the heir to the 200th model.
At the same time, the car is obviously aimed at the niche of not so much luxury as brutal off-road vehicles. With angular body shapes, it is more reminiscent of the new Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender than its predecessor.
The car will be released in three versions: basic with the name “1958”, “medium” and top-end First Edition. The first and last received round headlights, the “middle” – rectangular.
Sales of the new model in the US will start in the spring of 2024. The company said in a statement that Toyota expects to set the price in the region of $55,000.
