Kia showed a local version of the EV6 electric crossover after restyling at the Los Angeles Auto Show. In general, the modifications to the family here coincided with those announced in the spring for the Korean modification, but Los Angeles became the venue for the premiere of the updated EV6 GT, which has noticeably increased in power. In addition, the crossover acquired a new, more capacious base battery.
As in the case of the Korean electric car, the American one received completely new lighting equipment, redesigned bumpers, new wheels up to 21 inches and a rethought interior. So far, only images of the GT Line version have been published, which, judging by the photo, will differ in its own steering wheel with three massive spokes and seats with increased lateral support.
If on the domestic market, the Kia EV6 after restyling lost the modification with a compact battery (now only an 84-kilowatt version is available), then in the USA it has been preserved. However, the battery capacity has been increased from 58 to 63 kWh, which should have a positive effect on the range, although the exact figures have not yet been announced – certification is underway. The longest-range version of the EV6 with an 84-kilowatt battery and a 225-horsepower engine will travel up to 513 kilometers according to the EPA methodology (about 15 kilometers more than before the update).
