The most affordable Exeed is preparing for a planned restyling.
Premium crossover Exeed LX got a new engine and interior in China. A sports top version of the 400T with original bumpers, rims and exhaust appeared on sale; under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 249 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The interior has changed: not only the front panel and the central tunnel have been redrawn, but even the door cards and armchairs. The entire driver interface has been redesigned.
The debut of the Exeed LX 400T anticipates a planned restyling of the entire family of compact crossovers. Anthracite 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers and a bronze pair of double-barreled exhausts will surely remain the prerogative of the top version, but a frameless grille should adorn all updated EL X’s.
The interior of the Exeed LX 400T is not at all the same as that of the “younger” crossovers with 1.5 and 1.6 turbo engines. Signs of looking restyling – a new steering wheel, a front panel with trapezoidal screens of the infotainment complex and other door cards. The Jaguar Land Rover-style climate control sensor unit with pucks a la Jaguar Land Rover is a thing of the past; now you can use the washer on the central tunnel for settings. Exeed also promises that the performance of the media system has improved three times due to the new processor. Ventilated seats with integrated headrests and bright stitching are a feature of the sport version.
Under the hood of the Exeed with the 400T index is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, familiar from the large TXL and VX crossovers. On the LX, it is also combined with a 7-speed Getrag preselective “robot”, but the drive is only on the front axle. Accelerating dynamics is kept secret, but in the WLTC combined cycle, the novelty consumes 7.68 liters per 100 kilometers.
In China, Exeed LX 400T can already be bought at prices ranging from 139,900 to 149,900 yuan (equivalent to 1.18-1.26 million rubles). The first batch will consist of only 100 copies, which means the debut of the less powerful updated LX is just around the corner.
