The new Duster is preparing to launch in Turkey: the crossover has been modernized according to the same scenario as the Duster of the Romanian brand Dacia. It has the same exterior and interior design, and the differences are limited to the large RENAULT lettering between the headlights and the diamond-shaped emblem on the fifth door. Renault Duster production will be organized in Turkey, sales will start in the second quarter of this year (April-June).
The Turkish representative office of Renault publishes a series of new photos, including the interior, and also shares details about the local range of engines. In Turkey, the Duster will be offered with a 100 horsepower liter three-cylinder engine that runs on gasoline and propane. An alternative would be a “mild hybrid” installation – a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine with 130 horsepower and a 48-volt starter-generator. Such a crossover can be all-wheel drive.
Well, the most powerful option in the line is a hybrid with an E-Tech installation based on a 1.6-liter internal combustion engine, which is assisted by an electric motor. Their total output is 140 horsepower.
Inside, the Turkish Duster has a seven-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.1-inch diagonal multimedia system screen. What’s unusual is that the model name now appears on the front panel in front of the passenger. Between the seats there are two cup holders and several niches for storing small items.
The Duster model has been on the market for more than 13 years, and during this time it has sold over 2.2 million units. The plant in Romania, which produces Dusters for Europeans under the Dacia brand, assembles approximately one crossover per minute. The cost of the third generation model in Europe is from 19,690 euros. At what pace the Turkish enterprise will work is not specified, just as there is no information about the cost of Renault Duster on the local market.
