Toyota at a special event in Tokyo introduced a new luxury SUV Century. Car prices start at 25,000,000 yen. In total, the company plans to sell no more than 30 such SUVs per month in the home market. Whether the model will be exported to other countries is not yet known. One of the car’s competitors will be Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
The length of the novelty is 5205 mm, the width is 1990 mm, and the height is 1805 mm (71 inches). Wheelbase size – 2950 mm. And in the back row of the car there are only two separate seats. The car was equipped with unusual optics, divided into four elements in the Genesis style, as well as a large radiator grille, the Century emblem (previously only sedans were included in this family) and 22-inch wheels.
During the presentation, the public was shown an SUV with sliding rear doors and retractable running boards. However, the Japanese promise that a version with a traditional door scheme will also be available for purchase.
The seats in the cabin are equipped with a massage function, heating and ventilation. If desired, the chairs can be folded, turning them into a comfortable bed. For rear passengers, two separate displays of the multimedia system, chargers for gadgets and their own climate system are also available.
The novelty was built on the TNGA-K platform. The same chassis is used by the Highlander and Grand Highlander SUVs. Suspension – conventional spring, with McPherson struts in front and multi-link rear. Toyota Century equipped with a hybrid power plant. It consists of a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine and two electric motors. The total power of the SUV is 412 hp.
