Rolls-Royce Cullinan

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the “space” crossover Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadow. It is inspired by the Karman line, the boundary between the Earth’s atmosphere and space, and showcases several new designs from the Bespoke division. Among them are a perforated pattern on the seats, an embroidered moon and a unique graphic on the front that showcases the visible edge of the earth’s atmosphere.

The Karman Line is a conditional boundary between the Earth’s atmosphere and outer space, located at an altitude of 100 kilometers above sea level. The blue of the sky here fades into blackness, and it is this mystery and silence that inspired the Rolls-Royce Bespoke department to create a “space” version of the Black Badge Cullinan (V12 6.75, 600 hp, 900 Nm) called the Blue Shadow Private Collection. The circulation of this edition will be only 62 copies – one for each mile to the Karman line.

The special charm of the crossover is given by the deep blue color of the Stardust Blue body. The satin-brushed grille surround and bumper inserts reference the ceramic coating of Space Shuttle’s heat-shielding tiles. The Spirit of Ecstasy figurine is printed out of titanium and shimmers like mother-of-pearl thanks to a thin layer of lacquer with a bluish sheen. Its pedestal is engraved with the name of the special version – Blue Shadow – and for the letters another blue shade Charles Blue is used.
