Changan has declassified an SUV the size of a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Chinese media are publishing a series of official photographs of a brutal electric car, which will be sold in China under the Deepal brand. Deepal G318 – and it is under this code designation that the “battery-powered” model appears in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry – is a future competitor to the Jetour T2 and Tank 500. It will be offered in two modifications, with a single-engine unit with a capacity of 150 horsepower and a twin-engine unit with 430 horsepower.
It is expected that the Deepal G318 will first debut as a prototype, albeit close to the series – this could happen in the spring at the Beijing Auto Show. But the “commodity” version will not be long in coming, the premiere of which may take place before the end of this year. Chinese journalists predict a starting price for the model of 300 thousand yuan, which in terms of the current exchange rate is 3.8 million rubles. For an additional fee, the electric SUV will be available with a wide range of certified accessories, such as roof racks, running boards, spotlights, spare tire covers, and more.
There are no details about the technical “stuffing” yet – neither battery capacity nor power reserve. It is only known that the 150-horsepower Deepal G318 will be single-wheel drive, and the 430-horsepower version will be all-wheel drive. Among the expected functions is a “tank” turn, which requires a minimum of space; the car literally spins around its axis.
