Toyota has unveiled the Grand Highlander full-size crossover. The public debut of the car will take place on February 9 at the Chicago Auto Show. The production of machines will be established at a plant in Indiana (USA). The same company also produces the usual Highlander.
The novelty was built on the GA-K platform. The three-row crossover was equipped with a 2.4-liter engine with 269 hp. The engine works in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also, customers will be offered a hybrid modification of the Grand Highlander. Such a car received a 2.5-liter aspirated, electric motor and CVT. The total power of the machine is 246 hp. All versions of the novelty can be bought with front or all-wheel drive.
In addition, the car has another hybrid version called Hybrid Max. This crossover was equipped with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, an electric motor and a six-speed “automatic”. It will be possible to buy a car only with an all-wheel drive system. The total power of the crossover is 367 hp. Acceleration to hundreds takes this Grand Highlander 6.3 seconds.
The car received versions for eight or seven seats. Inside the Toyota Grand Highlander, 13 cup holders and bottle holders and seven USB Type-C connectors are installed at once. The crossover was equipped with a 12.3-touch display of a multimedia system, wireless charging for a smartphone, a JBL audio system with 11 speakers, as well as seats with a heating and ventilation function.
Also, the car was equipped with a proprietary set of driving assistants Toyota Safety Sense. Among the options for new items are a digital instrument panel, all-round cameras, a projection display and a panoramic roof. Passengers in the second row have their own climate control panel in the car. The maximum volume of the luggage compartment (with the seats folded) is 2775 liters.
