Rolls-Royce is not very often happy with new products, and updated models usually do not differ too much from the previous ones.
The sedan Ghost of the next model year, which received minimal differences from the pre-reform version, was no exception. Major improvements to the car have been made in the interior, and from the outside, only the most attentive will be able to notice the newly designed forged rims. The company also notes that for painting the body, customers are offered as many as 44,000 different shades.
As for the interior of the updated Rolls-Royce Ghost 2017-2018, it will delight with new upholstery made of genuine leather, as well as an upgraded audio amplifier and an additional speaker built into the ceiling. In addition, the sedan has got the Comfort Access system, which allows you to open the trunk lid when you move your foot under the rear bumper. Under the hood, the former 6.6-liter V12 engine with a capacity of 570 hp remains, paired with an 8-band automatic.
At the Geneva Motor Show 2014, the updated Rolls-Royce Gost sedan debuted, which received the Series II prefix to the name. Like last time, the car has undergone minimal changes. Outside, the restyled Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II lego is distinguished by the head optics of a different shape, which has acquired LED sections placed along the contour of the headlights. Also, the car received slightly retouched bumpers, stamping on the hood and a new design of 21-inch rims. Inside, the sedan gets even more comfortable seats, precise Wi-Fi access and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen multimedia system on the center console. And the touch controller with the image of the spirit of ecstasy on the central tunnel is able to perceive handwritten text to enter information.
The engine on the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II remained unchanged, but the 8-band automatic was now equipped with the Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) function, which debuted on the Wraith coupe. The transmission can now anticipate the driver’s actions and adapt to current road conditions using GPS data. European sales of new items started in the summer of 2014.
V-Specification
At the beginning of two thousand and fourteenth, the Ghost sedan got a modification of the V-Specification, which can be ordered only between January and June. Available exclusively in the extended wheelbase version, the cost of the car starts at 330,820 euros in Germany. The key feature of this version is the boosted to 601 hp. 6.6-liter V12 engine. And even though the increase was only 30 forces, this made it possible to reduce the acceleration time from zero to hundreds by 0.2 seconds. (up to 4.7 seconds). It is noteworthy that already 80% of all power is available from idle. The company has developed five new paint options for the Rolls-Royce Ghost V-Specification, but customers can still choose from 44,000 shades from the manufacturer’s palette. The sedan also sports chrome exhaust pipes (optional) and redesigned 21-inch wheels. Inside, the car received a watch with a new dial of exclusive design and door sills with a special version logo.
