Lamborghini has unveiled the off-road Huracan Sterrato. The supercar is based on the Huracan Evo, equipped with a naturally aspirated V10 5.2 engine, all-wheel drive and carbon-ceramic brakes. Sterrato differs from the donor by increased ground clearance, additional bottom protection and reconfigured mechatronics. For example, the two-door received an updated Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata dynamics control system and a Rally driving mode, like on the Urus Performante.
For Lamborghini, the off-road Huracan Sterrato is an attempt to rethink the very concept of sportiness. The supercar is based on the regular Huracan Evo and replicates the 2019 concept of the same name in detail.
The ground clearance here is increased by 44 millimeters, to 171; in addition, the track has been widened by 30 millimeters at the front and 34 at the rear. The thresholds are reinforced, and the bottom is covered with aluminum plates. At the same time, the shape of the rear diffuser has been revised, composite wheel arch extensions and a functional air intake on the roof have been added.
Off-road paraphernalia is reinforced by a technical stuffing specific to the model. For example, the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) dynamics control system has been updated with a predictive algorithm. With the help of Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale acceleration sensors, it controls the operation of adaptive shock absorbers, anti-buoyancy and all-wheel drive with a Haldex V multi-plate clutch.
The Strada and Sport driving modes have also been recalibrated, and a new Rally profile has been added, honed for low grip surfaces.
The Huracan Sterrato is powered by the aspirated V10 5.2. On the Huracan Evo, its output is 640 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, but on the Sterrato, power has been reduced to 610 horsepower and 560 Nm. Traction to all wheels comes through a seven-speed LDF “robot” and a rear mechanical locking differential.
With proper hooking, the supercar accelerates to a hundred in 3.4 seconds (for the Huracan Evo – 2.9 s) and develops a “maximum speed” of 260 kilometers per hour (it was 325 km / h).
Brakes – with perforated carbon-ceramic rotors and monobloc fixed calipers. The 19-inch wheels are shod with Sterrato-designed Bridgestone Dueler AT002 run-flat tires. They are distinguished by some advanced compound and a special tread pattern, and they also allow you to drive 80 kilometers at zero pressure.
For the first time in a supercar, you can find a digital inclinometer, a compass, a geographic coordinates indicator and a steering angle indicator. Multimedia already “in the database” supports the Amazon Alexa voice assistant.
In addition, the standard equipment of the Sterrato includes a telemetry complex that is synchronized with the proprietary Unica application and can upload heart rate information from the Apple Watch.
Through the Lamborghini Ad Personam personalization program, 350 exterior colors and 60 interior colors will be available for the Huracan Sterrato. Car production will begin in February 2023, and the circulation will be limited to 1499 units.
