Crossover Hyundai Mufasa showed in official photos

Hyundai has revealed the appearance of the new Mufasa crossover. He will celebrate the premiere at the Shanghai Motor Show and go on sale in the summer. The all-terrain vehicle will be equipped with a 2.0 aspirated engine and a six-band automatic. The drive will be only front. The vehicles will be produced by the Beijing Hyundai plant in Shunyi, a joint venture between BAIC Motor and Hyundai Motor Company. According to local media, the Mufasa crossover will actually replace the ix35 in Hyundai’s lineup.

The compact crossover Hyundai Mufasa will debut at Auto Shanghai in a few days and will enter the Chinese market in the summer. There it will be offered with an aspirated Smartstream G2.0 MPi and a six-band automatic. The cars will be produced by the Beijing Hyundai plant, a joint venture between BAIC Motor and Hyundai Motor Company. And according to some reports, “Mufasa” will replace the local ix35.

The production car, named after the Lion King cartoon character, was preceded by the Mufasa Adventure concept. It sported jagged wheels, flared fender flares, roof-mounted spotlights, and aggressive bumpers with exposed towing lugs. Such paraphernalia for a front-wheel drive crossover, of course, is useless. But to attract the attention of potential buyers – just right.

There is no word yet on Hyundai‘s plans to sell the Mufasa outside of China. However, now nothing prevents the import of such a car through parallel imports. In this way, everything gets to us, from the Geely Jiaji L minivan and the Volkswagen Lamando L liftback to the Changan Eado sedan and the 530-horsepower BYD Seal electric car.
